USMC AH-1Z Viper Attack Helicopter

The AH-1Z "Viper" attack helicopter, assigned to HMLA-469 "Vengeance" Squadron under the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing of the United States Marine Corps, features a low-observability two-tone gray-blue camouflage and serves as a core aerial firepower platform for U.S. military amphibious assault operations. Powered by two T700-GE-401C turboshaft engines and equipped with a four-blade composite main rotor system, the aircraft delivers enhanced flight stability and payload capacity, with a maximum speed of 411 kilometers per hour, offering outstanding high-speed maneuverability and battlefield adaptability. Under unit rotation deployments, the squadron is forward-postured in the Indo-Pacific theater and permanently stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa, Japan, conducting routine patrol and surveillance missions over the East China Sea and South China Sea. It frequently participates in Indo-Pacific strategic exercises, including the U.S.-Philippine "Balikatan" joint military drills, where it conducts hot refueling and rapid rearming training at Forward Arming and Refueling Points (FARPs). 

The helicopter also took part in the U.S. "Steel Knight" large-scale amphibious landing exercise, validating the tactical deterrence of Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO) and island seizure and control in high-intensity combat scenarios. Fitted with an advanced Hawkeye Target Sight System under its nose, it supports all-weather long-range target detection and night combat operations. Its comprehensive armament suite consists of a chin-mounted 20mm three-barrel rotary cannon, AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles, APKWS precision-guided rockets and various rocket pods, enabling it to perform diverse tactical missions including close air support, anti-armor strikes, tactical reconnaissance and regional deterrence patrols.
